Queer Space

 

     For this project, I photographed LGBT+ young adults in their bedrooms and living spaces. My interest in these spaces comes from a desire to find a place that feels like home. In this definition, home does not necessarily need to be defined as the four walls in which a person lives.  I would rather define "home" as a place where the subject feels safe, accepted, loved, and at peace. 

 

     Bedrooms have a unique way of showing intimate details of an individual's personality. Through these portraits, I've noticed an intimacy in personal spaces. Decorations provide comfort to the subjects, but also peek into the qualities which make these people unique.
